ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

B.Sc. Home Science - Semester I

- Candidates who have passed the +2 examination of 10+2 system of education from CBSE, Board of School Education, Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh or equivalent thereof, with English as a compulsory subject.

B.Sc. Fashion Designing - Semester I

(Self Financing Course)

-Admission to Semester I of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) shall be open to candidates with atleast 50% marks (45% marks for SC and ST category candidates) in 10+2 examination from CBSE, Board of School 
  Education, Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh or equivalent thereof, with English as acompulsory subject.
 
-Preference shall be given to a candidate who has undergone vocational education in Fashion Design/ Textile Design or studied fine arts subject/s or after 10+2 from any recognized/ approved University/Board.

 

P.G. Diploma in Child Guidance and Family Counseling - Semester I

- Any graduation from Panjab University /any other examination recognized by Panjab University as equivalent to graduation, with atleast 50% aggregate marks.

P.G. Diploma in Fashion Designing - Semester I

- Any graduation from Panjab University /any other examination recognized by Panjab University as equivalent to graduation, with atleast 50% aggregate marks.

P.G. Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics - Semester I

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

- B.Sc. Home Science/ B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/ Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to B.Sc. Home Science recognized by the Panjab University

- B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science

- B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc.(Honours) Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc. Food & Nutrition

- B.Sc. (Honours) Food & Nutrition

- B.Sc. (Honours) Food Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc. (Honours) Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science

- B.Sc. Family & Community Science

M.Sc. Home Science (Clothing and Textiles)- Semester I

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

- B.Sc. Home Science/ B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University.

- B.Sc. Fashion Designing/B.Sc. Fashion and Lifestyle Technology from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to above mentioned courses of Panjab University.

- B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science

- B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science

- B.Sc. Family & Community Science

- B.Sc. Integrated Family & Community Science

(Minimum aggregate marks should be atleast 50% in the above courses)

 

M.Sc. Home Science (Foods and Nutrition) - Semester I

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

- B.Sc. Home Science/ B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/ Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to B.Sc. Home Science recognized by the Panjab University

- B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science

- B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc.(Honours) Nutrition and Dietetics

- B.Sc. Food & Nutrition

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

- B.Sc. Home Science/ B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/ Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to B.Sc. Home Science recognized by the Panjab University.

- B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science

- B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science

- B.Sc. Family & Community Science

- B.Sc. Integrated Family & Community Science

(Minimum aggregate marks should be at least 50% in the above courses)

 

Ph.D (Home Science)

- Passed UGC(NET/JRF), CSIR, ASRB, Panjab University, Entrance Test.

- (Ph.D. Guidelines booklet can be obtained from Panjab University, Chandigarh)

Calculation Of Merit For Undergraduate Courses

- B.Sc. Home Science (Semester I) and B.Sc. Fashion Designing (Semester I)

- The merit will be calculated with the best of five subject marks including English as compulsory subject obtained in the qualifying exam (10+2).

Calculation Of Merit For Postgraduate Courses

- Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition &Dietetics / Child Guidance and Family Counselling /Fashion Designing M.Sc. in Foods & Nutrition /Clothing &Textiles/Human Development

The merit will be calculated on the aggregate marks/percentage in the qualifying examination.
