Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

As per the recommendations of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act 2013 and UGC (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Act 2015, the college constitutes an Internal Complaints Committee as per statutory rules. As per the guidelines given in 6.4 section of the Saksham Book, the college avails of all possible resources to ensure functioning of the Internal Complaints Committee.

The Internal Complaints Committee for Sexual Harassment is a statutory body constituted with the purpose of prevention of sexual harassment at workplace. Its functions include:

  • Grievance Redressal of sexual harassment
  • Counselling services for complainants
  • Consultation/ Support services for colleges
  • Sensitization/ Awareness programmes for prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace

It stands committed to take strict action against those indulging in sexual violence or harassment of any kind towards its stakeholders.

The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) has been constituted in the college in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2019 (Redressal of Grievance of Students). The institution aims at solving the grievances of the students within stipulated time or as soon as they are received. All complaints are scrutinized by the authorities and the Grievance Redressal Cell and the resolutions therefore are recorded.

Objectives:

To develop structured mechanism to resolve grievances of students.

To ensure that the staff of the College are receptive, accountable and courteous in dealing with the students.

To provide quick and effective resolution of student’s grievances in a non- discriminatory manner.

Upholding the dignity of the college and promoting cordial student-student relationship and student-teacher relationship.

Procedure and Functioning of the Committee

During the orientation programme at the beginning of the session, the students are informed about the committee, its working and the members are introduced.

The Grievance Redressal Committee shall consider all grievances submitted through any mode.

The co-coordinator shall arrange for a meeting and shall present the case before the committee for resolution.

The Grievance Redressal Committee will study, analyse the relevant documents and resolve the issue at the earliest.

RAGGING IS A COGNIZABLE OFFENCE AND IS BANNED IN ANY FORM INSIDE & OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS

Ragging includes disorderly conduct whether by words, spoken or written or by any act which has the effect of teasing, treating and handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities which cause or are likely to cause hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension in a fresher or new student. It is imperative that students be well- behaved and respectful towards each other. Any one indulging in or abetting gang fights will be dealt with very sternly and may be rusticated. Ragging in any form is a punishable offence and the same is banned by the Court of Law, as per directives of the Supreme Court of India, dated May 16, 2007 in SLP No. (s) 24295 / 2004. Anti- Ragging squad and helplines have been formed in the college to prevent ragging and help students in distress, if any.
