The college has an active placement cell which liaisons with the related industry and schedules interviews and placements. The cell organizes workshops on personality development, resume writing and associated activities. Soft skill development and entrepreneurship development workshops are also organized by inviting speakers/experts from the relevant areas.

Placement and Entrepreneurial cell

The college has a dedicated and an active placement cell consistently making its efforts towards placement and internship of under graduate, post graduate and diploma students of the college. Emphasis is being laid on establishing linkages with product and service industry and it constantly aims at encouraging entrepreneurial and placement initiatives among students through organizing various workshops and demonstrations sessions.

Campus Placement Drive 2022

The placement cell of Government Home Science college organized campus placement drive for various streams in the month of March, 2022. The placement drive offered Internships and placement assistance to the various students based on their specific streams. Various reputed companies like Nestle, Fitelo, Max hospital, Vp life style, Black apparels, Crayons, Aptitude India, Arya Hospital and Women and Child helpline etc. visited the campus. The drive received a tremendous response from both students and various recruiting organizations. Total of 200 students from various streams participated in the drive and  and six students were given on the spot job offers with average pay package of 3 lacs to 4 lacs per annum. More than 50 students are shortlisted for second round of interviews.  Not withstanding this, 100% internships are offered to all post graduate and undergraduate students.

Sustainable Entrepreneurial Initiatives

To help the students explore entrepreneurship as a practical aspect,  Swavlamban Mela was organised by the budding entrepreneurs of the college .The exhibition provided a platform to help students showcase their creativity and talent. It was an amalgamation of creativityand skills of the students where spectacular ideas were displayed and students learnt to hone their skills through exhibition and digital  selling. The amount of enthusiasm from the participants and talented workof the students was remarkable. A great response was received from viewers of this exhibition.

On line workshops were also organized as an initiative to groom and nourish the skills of the students.

Startup intiatives

The lockdown has not deterred the spirits of budding home scientists. Even while confined to their homes, the team of placement cell has continuously guided and mentored the students to exploit their skills and work from home. As a consequence many students of the home  science served as a swawlambi warriors by helping the community through their creativity and at the same time earned from home.They have found ways to contribute and give back at this time of crisis through making PPE kits, diet counselling to old age and needy people, distrubting medicines and giving on line coaching to special children.

The students were motivated and guided to undertake their digital startups. Most of the students of the college are exploiting their skills and are taking orders by running digital startups through Instagram, Facebook and YouTube links in sync with Aatm Nirbhar Bharat mission

To boost the spirits of it's budding entrepreneurs and to enhance their creativity, the college and the placement cell has taken the initiative by offering its laboratories and  infrastructure as  a incubation and co-working space for or its alumini and students. They have been  invited to use the equipments, laboratories and other infrastructure  under the mentorship of the trained faculty and develop their skills to establish their enterprises/Ventures in future

 To enhance the entrepreneurial skills of the budding entrepreneurs of the college and to provide marketing platform to the innovative products and services of the college students and Alumni, placement cell has  established a Swavlamban window with the help of a grant of  rupees 1.50 lacs from SIDBI.

The grant has been utilised for setting up of display cum Sale point named as Svavlamban window where the budding entrepreneurs of the college display and showcase their creative products and services. This will help to create a demand for their products.
