Eligibility

 

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSIONS

  • B.Sc. Home Science (Hons.)/ B.Sc. Home Science (Hons. with Research) (Single Major and Single Minor under NEP 2020) Semester I
  • Candidates who have passed +2 examination from recognized board (CBSE, Board of School Education, Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh or equivalent), with English as a compulsory subject. However, a student who has not qualified English as one of the subjects at the +2 examination, shall be eligible to join 1st Semester provisionally, subject to her qualifying the deficient subject of English from the parent Board/Body/Council/University in one consecutive chance in the Supplementary Examination held in July/August, subsequent to her admission, failing which her admission to 1st Semester and the result for the examination shall automatically stand cancelled

 

  • M.Sc. Home Science (Clothing and Textiles)- Semester I

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

  • B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University.
  • B.Sc. Fashion Designing/B.Sc. Fashion and Lifestyle Technology from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to above mentioned courses of Panjab University.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science
  • B.Sc. Family & Community Science
  • B.Sc. Integrated Family & Community Science

Note: Minimum aggregate marks should be at least 50% in the above courses

  • M.Sc. Home Science (Foods and Nutrition) - Semester I

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

  • B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/ Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to B.Sc. (Home Science) recognized by the Panjab University
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science
  • B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc. Food & Nutrition
  • B.Sc. (Food, Nutrition and Dietetics)
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Food & Nutrition
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Food Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science
  • B.Sc. Family & Community Science
  • B.Sc. Food Science & Nutrition
  • B.Sc. Integrated Family & Community Science
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Food Science, Dietetics & Nutrition

A person who possesses one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

  • B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Sc. (Home Science) in any of these streams i.e. Apparel and Textile Design/ Composite/ Dietetics/ Human Development and Family Relations/ Human Development/ Interior Design Management from Panjab University/any other degree equivalent to B.Sc. (Home Science) recognized by the Panjab University.
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science
  • B.Sc. (Honours) Community Science
  • B.Sc. Family & Community Science
  • B.Sc. Integrated Family & Community Science

Calculation of Merit for Undergraduate Courses:

  • B.Sc. Home Science (Hons.)/ B.Sc. Home Science (Hons. with Research) (Single Major and Single Minor under NEP 2020) – Semester I

Note: The merit will be calculated with the best of five subject marks including English as compulsory subject obtained in the qualifying exam (10+2).

Calculation of Merit for Postgraduate Courses:

  • M.Sc. in Clothing &Textiles/ Foods & Nutrition/ Human Development– Semester I

Note: The merit will be calculated on the aggregate marks/percentage in the qualifying examination.
