Online Orientation Session by IBM Skills-Build Program Conducted for Home Science Students

Date: 17 February, 2026

An online orientation session under the IBM Skills Build Program titled “I Can Become” was successfully organized for students to introduce them to industry-ready career opportunities and free courses on digital skill development. The orientation informed students about various virtual courses offered free of cost under the program, including AI Foundations (ISTE & IBM), Cybersecurity Architecture, and Career Launch: Be an Entrepreneur, designed to equip learners with industry-relevant digital competencies. These courses will be provided free of cost, along with certification from IBM, enabling students to enhance their professional growth and career prospects.
The session was conducted by Dr. Anjali, who provided live online hands-on training demonstrating the step-by-step process of registering for these courses on the portal. She also addressed and satisfied the queries of the students, ensuring that participants clearly understood the enrolment procedure.
The orientation, held virtually on 17 February 2026, witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 200 students from diverse streams of Home Science. Students expressed keen interest in enrolling for the free courses and appreciated the opportunity to gain exposure to real-world skills and structured learning pathways through this initiative.
Later, the college has also been highlighted as “College of the Week” in the Skill Build Journey for empowering students with free IBM certified courses in AI, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Employability Skills and more all at zero cost to the institution.

Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal encouraged students to take maximum advantage of this valuable initiative by IEP cell of the college. She emphasized that such programs bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations and empower students with modern digital skills required for future careers. She motivated students to enroll in the courses and make productive use of the free learning opportunity
