GHSC-10 Organizes Woollen Donation Drive at Institute for Blind

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organized a Woollen Donation Drive at the Institute for Blind, Sector-26, Chandigarh, on December 9, 2024. As part of this initiative, NCC cadets distributed woollen items such as caps, gloves, and socks to school children, aiming to shield them from the harsh winter conditions. The drive was a step towards assisting underprivileged individuals during the cold season while instilling a sense of social responsibility among the cadets toward vulnerable sections of society.The initiative sought to inspire cadets to develop empathy and an understanding of their duties toward the needy and society at large. It also sensitized them to the needs of underprivileged children and the elderly, fostering a spirit of care and compassion.Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, lauded the NCC cadets for their thoughtful gesture, emphasizing that true contentment lies in selfless giving. She reaffirmed the college's dedication to undertaking such initiatives as part of its commitment to social responsibility and reaching out to the economically and socially disadvantaged.
