Government Home Science College Organizes Two-Day Skill Building Workshop on Correct Feeding Practices for Infants and Young Children 03.11.23

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), New Delhi, successfully conducted a two-day skill-building workshop aimed on Correct Feeding Practices for Infants and Young Children. The workshop focused and brought together experts and students to explore and learn about essential aspects of infant and child nutrition.The workshop featured an array of insightful sessions, lectures, and practical demonstrations led by Ms. Vandana and Ms. Meenu, distinguished experts in the field of nutrition and child development. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of optimal infant and young child feeding practices, with a focus on breastfeeding, management, infant feeding during special circumstances, essentials of feeding, developing counselling skills through practical demonstrations, and adopting and sustaining Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
The participants of the workshop included Ph.D. research scholars, master's students specializing in Foods and Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing & Textiles, and postgraduate diploma students in Nutrition & Dietetics, Child Guidance & Family Counseling, and Fashion Designing. The students had the unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field who provided insights beyond the pages of textbooks.Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of Government Home Science College, expressed her gratitude to the key speakers, Ms. Vandana and Ms. Meenu, for their valuable contributions to the workshop.
