An enlightening session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was conducted at Home Science College, Chandigarh on March 31,2025.Speaker for the session was advocate Jasneet Kaur, a distinguished legal practitioner with nearly 14 years of experience in IPR laws, civil, and constitutional litigation.Advocate Jasneet Kaur, Co-Founder and Partner at JusIP law firm, is renowned for her expertise in IPR litigation, advisory, consultancy, and transactional matters.During the session she provided valuable insights into the critical aspects of protecting creative and business assets, covering copyrights, designs, and trademarks. She emphasized the importance of IPR in safeguarding innovations and creations, explaining the fundamentals of copyrights that protect literary, artistic, and musical works. She elaborated on how unique visual features of products can be legally secured through design protection and discussed how trademarks help businesses establish brand identity and prevent unauthorized use of distinctive logos, symbols, or names.
Citing numerous real-life examples, she demonstrated how intellectual property is integral to daily life, from product branding to artistic creations and software development. A key highlight was her detailed explanation of the procedure for filing IPR applications, including documentation requirements, timelines, and legal formalities.
