It also focussed on how school can be fun by making them dance on the beats of refreshing music and playing fun games. These tiny tots were also provided with one batch displaying a message ‘I LOVE MY SCHOOL’ with a motive to inspire them to come to school everyday. The celebrations of the day were segregated into various activities where the Post Graduate Diploma students created laminated ‘VARNMALA’ with associated miniature graphics for self help for domestic workers and need based beneficiaries, M.Sc HDFR 3rd Semester capacitated senior citizens to use news apps in all the 3 languages(Hindi, English and Punjabi) to keep pace with latest trends in contemporary issues with respect to their environment, M.Sc HDFR 1stSemester became the part of ‘SWACH KITAB SEWA’ where the books of the Department were cleaned , repaired and organized and B.Sc HDFR 3rd Semester developed theme based wall magazine. The day long celebrations came out to be a big success with the co-ordination of everybody in the department. As it has been rightly said that “BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” hence this small step towards literacy at the college level will surely bring change to the entire society eventually. The whole event was appreciated by the Principal, Prof. Sudha Katyal and she also motivated students to instill good reading habits in their free time.
