GHSC-10 Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervor

Government Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm and national pride on August 15, 2025. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, Prof. Sudha Katyal, followed by the soulful rendition of the National Anthem.
The event was marked by vibrant cultural performances. Students presented enthralling patriotic songs, while the tiny tots of Chaitanya Nursery School captivated the audience with their graceful dance performances on patriotic themes. NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers also showcased their talent and spirit through inspiring presentations.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Katyal paid heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and urged everyone to remain united in eradicating social evils, thereby achieving true freedom. She emphasized the collective responsibility of transforming India from a developing nation into a developed one. The Principal also administered a pledge, joined by all students and staff, to contribute their best towards making the nation drug-free and working relentlessly for nation-building
