GHSC-10 Organizes Multifarious Activities to Mark International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

To observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organised a series of engaging multifarious activities including poster making, reel making and an online yoga session, aimed at promoting a drug-free and healthy lifestyle among students from June 01-07, 2025.
The initiative was undertaken to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to motivate youth to make informed and positive life choices. Students participated enthusiastically in the poster and reel-making competitions, creatively expressing powerful messages against drug abuse through art and digital media.
In addition, an online yoga session was organised to highlight the importance of physical and mental well-being as an effective preventive strategy against addiction. The session included various asanas and breathing techniques that help in reducing stress and promoting self-discipline.
The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, applauded the efforts of students and faculty for their commitment to this important cause. She emphasized the crucial role of educational institutions in nurturing awareness and resilience among youth to combat the menace of drug abuse.
The event served as a reminder of collective responsibility and the power of creative expression and mindfulness in building a healthier, drug-free society.
