GHSC-10 Organizes Tree Plantation Drive to Promote Environmental Sustainability

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organized a Tree Plantation Drive with the objective of promoting environmental sustainability and nurturing eco-consciousness among students. The initiative saw the active participation of over 50 enthusiastic NSS volunteers, who contributed wholeheartedly to the cause of a greener and healthier planet.
As part of the campaign, the NSS wing of the college established a Herbal Garden within the campus and planted Tulsi (Holy Basil) on August 4, 2025. This meaningful step not only enhances the college’s green cover but also highlights the importance of medicinal plants in our ecosystem.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, lauded the commendable efforts of the NSS team. She emphasized that fostering environmental awareness and taking proactive steps toward sustainability are vital to securing a cleaner and greener future for generations to come.
