GHSC-10 Students Shine at 15th Panjab University Rose Festival, 2026

Students of Government Home Science College, Chandigarh showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial skills at the 15th Panjab University Rose Festival, Chandigarh held from February 6–8, 2026.
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Yojna Rawat, Dean, University Instruction, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Students set up multiple stalls featuring skill-based products reflecting their start-up activities and professional craftsmanship. The exhibits included a wide range of handcrafted items such as crocheted flowers, handbags, key rings, clutches, scrunchies, painted bottles and pots as well as “best out of waste” creations like newspaper baskets, Shagun envelopes and canvas paintings.
Adding to the pride of the institution, two alumni students, Sakshi and Ekta, also participated by exhibiting their products at the festival. The stalls received a tremendous response from visitors and proved to be a major attraction especially among the young crowd. The students were highly appreciated for their innovation, presentation and dedication by the Hon’ble Chief Guest.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, highly appreciated the efforts of the students for their entrepreneurial skills. She remarked that such platforms provide valuable exposure to students by enabling them to translate classroom learning into real-world experience. She further emphasized that the ‘Earn While You Learn’ initiative empowers students to become self-reliant, confident and socially responsible individuals. Prof. Katyal applauded the students for bringing laurels to the college and stated that their enthusiastic participation and overwhelming public response at the Rose Festival reflect the institution’s commitment towards skill development, innovation and holistic education.
