GHSC-10 Conducts Multiple Activities under Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat 100-Day Campaign

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised multiple activities  under Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat 100 Day Campaign  from November 27  to December 30, 2025 with an  objective of sensitising students and the community against the social evil of child marriage.

As part of the campaign, a series of activities were conducted which included pledge-taking ceremony, sensitisation sessions in Government Senior Secondary Schools of Sector-23 and Sector-37, Chandigarh, Nukkad Natak focused on Challenging social customs that normalise child marriage, Essay Writing and Poster Making on the theme ‘Baal Vivaah: Riwaaz Nahi, Aparaadh Hai’, Door to Door Awareness about harmful impact of child marriage. The activities aimed to promote legal awareness, social responsibility and collective action towards the eradication of child marriage. NSS  Volunteers  participated with great zeal and enthusiasm contributing actively to the success of the campaign.

The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, lauded the efforts of the NSS Wing and emphasised on  the importance of organising such awareness programmes to curb deep-rooted social evils. She further highlighted that sustained community engagement and youth participation are vital for building a progressive and prosperous nation.
