Anupreet Kaur Sobti (PhD Scholar), Sakhshi and Shallu, students of M.Sc. 4th sem of Foods and Nutrition Deptt. brought laurels to the college by securing First, Second and Third Prizes in the Poster Making Competition at an International Conference, WE CARE 2026 (WOMEN ENDOCRINE CARE 2026) organized by Endocrine Society of India for celebrating the International Women’s Day on March 8th 2026, at Radisson Red, Mohali. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from all the renowned Clinicians from Endocrinology, Nutritionists and Medical Students. Students of our college presented their research work on micro-greens of legumes-cum-cereals that resulted in food product development with enriched nutritional values which are vital in pregnancy. The e-posters stood out for its originality, conceptual clarity and novel work. Students were awarded with the certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 4000, 2500 and 1500 for securing first, second, and third positions.
In addition, the faculty of Foods and Nutrition Department, Dr. Vasudha Bansal was also invited as a Speaker for chairing the session on Pregnancy Care with Gestational Diabetes. She chaired the session as panelist and answered the queries on healthy weight gain, maintenance of post prandial sugar levels, optimum calorie intake during pregnancy with diabetes and how to prevent the risk for developing pregnancy in third trimester.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, congratulated all the students and the faculty on their commendable achievement. She emphasized that the institution actively encourages students to participate in co-curricular activities that foster knowledge, creativity and innovation.
