Awareness Session on Stress Management Among Students

In compliance with the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India Order dated 15.01.2026 in the matter of Amit Kumar & Ors. vs Union of India & Ors., Government Home Science College organized an awareness session on stress management for students at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 15 C, Chandigarh on May 2, 2026. The session aimed to create awareness about stress, its common causes and effective ways to manage it among adolescents.Through interactive discussions and engaging activities, students were encouraged to openly express their concerns and experiences related to academic and personal stress. Students of Master’s in Home Science with specialisation in Human Development provided practical guidance on adopting healthy coping strategies, maintaining emotional balance and developing a positive approach toward challenges in daily life.The session emphasized the importance of early identification and management of stress among students and highlighted the need for emotional well-being as an essential component of holistic development. Students actively participated in the discussions and gained valuable insights into maintaining mental wellness through simple and effective stress-management techniques.
The initiative proved to be highly informative and impactful, helping students understand the significance of mental and emotional well-being in achieving a balanced and healthy lifestyle.Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the efforts of the Department of Human Development for organizing the session. She emphasized that such awareness programmes play a vital role in promoting holistic well-being and empowering students to handle stress in a healthy and constructive manner.
