Budding Entrepreneurs of GHSC-10 Shine at 53rd Rose Festival, 2025

The budding entrepreneurs of Government Home Science College showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit at the 53rd Rose Festival, held from February 21-23, 2025 at the Rose Garden and Leisure Valley. Through their vibrant stalls, the students exhibited and sold a diverse range of innovative, handcrafted products, reflecting the skills they acquired during their academic journey.At the Rose Garden, students from the Clothing and Textile department captivated visitors with a stunning collection of handmade tie-and-dye products, table mats, cushion covers, dupattas, and bags, many crafted from reusable materials. Their mini gardens, curated using waste materials, beautifully conveyed the message of sustainable living.Meanwhile, the college’s stall at Leisure Valley attracted a steady stream of visitors. Students showcased exquisite painted articles, bed sheets ,cushions,wall hangings, terracotta turtles, terrariums and coasters etc. Adding an interactive element to the festival, students organized fun psychological games that engaged visitors of all ages. A handmade photo booth became a crowd favorite, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to capture memories of the festival. Handwriting analysis proved to be a hit, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among attendees.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the College, visited the stalls and lauded the students and faculty for their collaborative efforts. She emphasized that such hands-on experiences are invaluable in shaping students' future careers by fostering real-world skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. She further highlighted that platforms like these not only allow students to showcase their talent but also empower them to transform their skills into potential income-generating ventures.The event was a resounding success, leaving both students and visitors inspired by the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial zeal on display.
