Budding Entrepreneurs of Government Home Science College put up stalls at 52nd Rose Festival, 2024 (02.03.24)

The budding entrepreneurs of Government Home Science College showcased their talent and skills by putting up stalls of a various innovative items at Rose garden and Leisure Valley in 52nd Rose Festival held from Feburary 23 to Feburary 25,2024. The students exhibited and sold exquisite products related to what they learned in the college. In rose garden, the students of Clothing and Textile displayed variety of articles including tie and dye products, table mats, cushion covers, dupattas, bags, dresses using reusable material, various mini gardens beautifully curated using waste materials while giving a message of sustainable living.In leisure valley, the stall of the college witnessed brisk sales where the students exhibited and sold handmade paintings, hand painted bedsheets, curtains, shagun envelopes, mandala art paintings, candles,crochet items, bakery items, etc. Handmade paintings of Mandala art were a huge attraction to the visitors. Foreign tourists appreciated the art and handmade work of the students and even purchased the paintings, keeping the spirits of the students high.The students also displayed many fun psychological games which were enjoyed by a large number of people in the fest. A hand made photo booth was also kept by the students where people clicked pictures and appreciated the efforts of the students. Handwriting analysis by the students proved to be hit among visitors visiting the stalls. Moreover, a diet counselling and healthy snack corner was also set up. The healthy snacks included millet laddus, bakery items etc. Tattoo making was major attraction for kids. The students also put up hair braiding stall and styled the people over there.
Principal of the College, Prof. Sudha Katyal also visited the stalls and highly applauded the collaborative efforts of the students and faculty members. She added that this kind of hands-on experience can be incredibly valuable for future careers of students, as it helps them develop real-world skills and entrepreneurial mindset. It also provides them with a platform to showcase their talents and potentially generate income from their creations.
