Home Science College celebrates International Forest Day

Govt Home Science College celebrated International Forest Day , 2022 in collaboration with NGO " Yuvsatta".The theme for this year is “Forests and Sustainable Production and Consumption” .
Shri Debendra Dalai, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, Chandigarh Administration, UT flagged off the jungle trail in which over 50 students of the college participated at Nepli Reserve Forest. He addressed the students on how the survival of mankind dependsentirely on preservation of nature and how forests play a crucial role in poverty alleviation and in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. He urged the students to follow the motto of “Each one Plant one “ especially on any occasionthey celebrate.
An environment quiz was also conducted where winners were given prizes and the college was awarded a momento as a token of appreciation for active participation in environmental causes under the able guidance of Principal, Prof. Sudha Katyal. Principal of the college also motivated the students to help in saving our forests.
