College Marks the 58th Annual Athletic Meet with Enthusiasm and Sportsmanship

Home Science College Ignites Sporting Spirit at 58th Annual Athletic Meet Spirit, Strength, and Sportsmanship Shine at GHSC's 58th Athletic Meet 
Government Home Science College successfully hosted its 58th Annual Athletic Meet, a one-day sporting event filled with energy, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, who unfurled the college flag and administered the oath-taking ceremony, marking the official commencement of the much-anticipated athletic spectacle.The event kicked off with a synchronized march past by the students, led by Senior Under Officer Parade Commander Aanchal Gupta and Sports Captain Kashish. The Presidency Torch was ceremoniously lit by the college’s outstanding athletes, symbolizing the spirit of perseverance and excellence in sports.The highlight of the day was the participation of students in a variety of track and field events, including 100m, 200m, 400m relay races, long jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, and fun races such as the three-legged race, sack race, lemon-and-spoon race, and tug of war. Each event witnessed enthusiastic participation, reflecting the college’s commitment to promoting physical fitness and team spirit. A special attraction of the event was a mesmerizing performance by the students, featuring yoga demonstrations and an energetic Bhangra performance, which captivated the audience.At the conclusion of the meet, Kashish was awarded the Best Athlete title for outstanding performance across multiple events.  Prof. Sudha Katyal (Principal) lauded the efforts of the Sports committee, teaching and non-teaching staff for their seamless coordination in organizing the event and encouraged students to pursue sports alongside academics. The event concluded with the flag retreat ceremony and a heartfelt vote of thanks.
