Continuing Nutrition Education (CNE) organized by Foods and Nutrition Department

Continuing Nutrition Education (CNE) was organized by Foods and Nutrition Department, Govt. Home Science College in collaboration with Indian Dietetic Association (IDA), Chandigarh Chapter on the theme 'Sustaining Breast Feeding Together' as part of National Breast Feeding Week. Nearly 100 delegates participated in the CNE. Ms. Sheela Krishnaswamy, National President, IDA was the Chief Guest and Professor Sudha Katyal, Principal was the Guest of Honour. Ms. Madhu Sharma, President IDA Chandigarh Chapter welcomed the guests and delegates. Dr. Chhaya Prasad, Pediatrician spoke on the positive association of breast feeding and intellectual development. Making sure that women breastfeed their children, Mrs. Rama Mahajan discussed the various challenges faced and ways to overcome them. Chief Dietician, GSSH 16, Ms Manisha Arora gave a motivational talk on preparing for successful breastfeeding. The talks were followed by an interactive session in the august presence of Ms. Sheela Krishnaswamy, discussed membership, eligibility and criteria of being a part of IDA. Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Secretary, IDA, Chandigarh chapter and Chief Dietician Fortis Hospital, Mohali delivered vote of thanks. Principal, Prof Sudha Katyal encouraged and appreciated the audience for such enthusiastic participation.
