DIETITICS DAY CELEBRATED AT HOME SCIENCE COLLEGE

A host of activities were conducted at Home Science College to celebrate “National Dietetics Day” on the theme “Dietetics in COVID – 19 world – The Digital Way”. Inauguration of an online portal for diet counseling was done on the college website to ensure continued services to people even at the time of the pandemic and strengthen the already running successful diet clinic.
A health camp was organized for the staff and students in collaboration with Healing Hospital, Sector 34, Chandigarh. The camp included gynecological consultation by Dr Ekawali Gupta who answered queries for all the young girls. Measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar and hemoglobin was also conducted. A diet clinic was also set up on the campus. All the teaching and non teaching staff, office and support staff and students attending the 2 day NSS camp availed the benefits of the health camp.
Along with this, an online Inter College competition was also organized on the theme “Create Your Healthy Plate, Let's See What You Ate “.This was done as an effort to instill the importance of healthy eating and consuming a balanced meal.
Principal of the college, Prof Sudha Katyal motivated the faculty and students to ensure dissemination of knowledge through the use of digital media.She encouraged the need to eat healthy especially during the time of the pandemic to ensure immunity build up.
