Diwali Mela organised with fun and fervour at Government Home Science College

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, celebrated the spirit of Diwali with a vibrant Mela that showcased the entrepreneurial talents of its students on 24/10/2024. The event featured a diverse range of stalls offering delicious food, unique clothing, and handmade crafts, fostering a sense of innovation and creativity. Budding entrepreneurs from the college proudly displayed their creations, including delectable food stalls with   variety of traditional and contemporary snacks and sweets that captured the festive essence of Diwali. A special stall was put up by the students featuring beautifully crafted candles, demonstrating the talent and resilience of visually impaired students, with proceeds supporting their educational initiatives.

Handcrafted crochet items, Hand-painted cushion covers and intricately designed dupattas that showcased traditional craftsmanship attracted a large crowd. Principal Prof Sudha Katyal emphasized the importance of the event and added that Diwali Mela not only celebrates the festival but also empowers our students to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit. She appreciated the efforts of IEP Cell and Arts department in organising such event.
