GHSC-10 Celebrates Parakram Diwas

To honor the valor and legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised Essay Writing Competition and Poem Recitation Competition on January 23, 2025. The essay writing competition, themed "The Legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose", aimed to instill awareness about Netaji's extraordinary contributions to India's independence. NSS Volunteers showcased their writing skills and expressed their admiration for his relentless efforts and ideals. Volunteers presented thought-provoking essays, reflecting on Netaji’s bravery, leadership, and vision for a united and free India. The competition not only highlighted Netaji’s life but also inspired volunteers to imbibe his values of courage, determination and patriotism. Following the essay competition, a heartwarming poem recitation session was held. NSS Volunteers recited self-composed and renowned patriotic poems dedicated to Netaji and the Indian freedom struggle. Poems like "Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja" and original works on Netaji’s sacrifices evoked a sense of pride and patriotism among the audience. The creativity and emotional depth showcased by the volunteers was truly commendable.Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college,highlighted the importance of observing Prakram Diwas as a day to honor bravery and dedication. She further emphasised that such activities organised by college, serve as a platform to inspire the younger generation to uphold the values of courage, unity and selfless service exemplified by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
