GHSC-10 Faculty  Attended Two Day Workshop on ‘Cyber Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience

NSS Programme Officers Mrs Seema Jaitly and Dr. Neha Sharma attended a two-day workshop on “Cyber Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience (DRR&R)” held from 08th to 09th May 2025 at the Auditorium, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Sector 26, Chandigarh. The workshop was organized by MGSIPA, Government of Punjab, in collaboration with the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The objective of the workshop was to enhance awareness and build the capacity of participants on cyber risk preparedness, resilience strategies and the growing importance of cybersecurity in disaster management frameworks. Participants nominated by various departments attended the workshop, which provided a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices. 

The sessions covered critical areas such as cyber threats, national policies for cyber resilience, case studies of past cyber disasters, and strategies for mitigation and response. Resource persons from NIDM and MGSIPA delivered expert lectures and conducted interactive sessions. The workshop also emphasized the importance of institutional coordination and individual preparedness in tackling cyber risks. In line with sustainability goals, participants were requested to bring their own water bottles, and logistical information was efficiently shared through a dedicated WhatsApp group. Overall, the workshop successfully equipped attendees with practical insights and strategies to strengthen cyber disaster preparedness and resilience in their respective domains.
