GHSC-10 NSS Volunteers Participated in ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ Programme

NSS Volunteers of Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, actively participated in the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ programme organised by the Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh Administration, on September 22, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, U.T. Secretariat, Chandigarh. The programme was graced by Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest.The programme aimed to strengthen awareness among the youth about the harmful consequences of substance abuse and to encourage collective efforts towards building a healthy, responsible and drug-free society. The participation of NSS Volunteers provided them with an opportunity to learn about the importance of making informed choices, promoting healthy lifestyles and contributing actively to the national vision of a drug-free India.The volunteers participated with enthusiasm and demonstrated their commitment towards spreading the message of ‘Say No to Drugs’ among their peers and within the community. Their participation also reflected the college’s continued efforts to engage students in socially relevant initiatives and youth-oriented awareness campaigns.

Principal of the College, Prof. Sudha Katyal, appreciated the active participation of the students and emphasised that educational institutions have a vital role in empowering young people to make healthy and responsible choices. She encouraged the students to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and to spread awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse, thereby contributing meaningfully towards creating a healthier, safer and drug-free society.
