GHSC-10 Organised Awareness Rally & Door to Door Campaign on T.B. Prevention

An awareness rally and a door-to-door awareness campaign was organised by Government Home Science College, Chandigarh to raise awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) prevention and eradication, on March 1, 2025, under the Government of India's initiative to eliminate TB. The event aimed to educate the public on TB symptoms, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.The rally commenced from college premises covering its surrounding areas . 120 NSS volunteers actively participated, carrying banners and placards with messages promoting TB awareness and prevention. The participants engaged with the public, dispelling myths and emphasizing the importance of hygiene, vaccination, and timely medical intervention.As part of the door-to-door campaign, volunteers visited households to educate residents about TB symptoms, its transmission, and the availability of free diagnosis and treatment at government health centers. Informational pamphlets were distributed, and individuals were encouraged to seek medical help if they exhibited any symptoms.Principal of the college, Prof.Sudha Katyal, commended the dedication of NSS volunteers and stressed the need for continued awareness efforts.The event successfully strengthened public understanding of TB and encouraged proactive measures toward its prevention and eradication.
