GHSC-10 organised awareness rally on gender equality & sensitisation and movie screening on status of women in India

Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised an awareness rally focusing on gender equality and sensitization, followed by a movie screening highlighting the status of women in India on March 05, 2025. These initiatives were part of the college's ongoing commitment to promoting gender parity and empowering women.The day commenced with an awareness rally aimed at promoting gender equality and sensitization. NSS Volunteers participated enthusiastically, carrying raising slogans advocating for equal rights and opportunities for all genders. The rally traversed key areas around the college campus, engaging the local community and sparking conversations on the importance of gender sensitization in everyday life.Following the rally, a movie screening was held to shed light on the current status of women in India. The selected film delved into the challenges and triumphs of Indian women, offering insights into their societal roles and the ongoing struggle for equality. The screening aimed to educate attendees on the historical and contemporary issues faced by women, fostering a deeper understanding of the need for continued efforts toward gender parity.Prof. Sudha Katyal applauded the efforts of NSS Wing and emphasised the significance of organising such events. She further highlighted by addressing pivotal subjects such as gender sensitization and the status of women in India, the college continues to play a vital role in the ongoing pursuit of gender equality.
