GHSC-10 Organises Awareness Session on Mental Health and Well-Being

In compliance with the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India Order dated 15 January 2026 in the matter of Amit Kumar & Ors. vs. Union of India & Ors., Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, organised an Awareness Session on Mental Health and Well-Being on 20 July 2026.The session was conducted with the objective of promoting mental health literacy, fostering open and positive conversations about emotional well-being, and sensitising newly admitted students to the importance of maintaining good mental health. The programme also encouraged students to recognise the significance of seeking timely support and adopting healthy coping strategies to enhance their overall well-being.The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, emphasised the importance of organising such awareness programmes for freshers. She highlighted that the transition to college life often brings new academic, social and emotional challenges, making it essential to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to prioritise their mental well-being from the very beginning of their academic journey.
