GHSC-10 Organises Hands-on Workshop on Sun Printing During Tex-Style Week Celebrations

As part of the ongoing Tex-Style Week celebrations, Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh organised a hands-on Workshop on Sun Printing for students of U.G. and P.G. classes on September 16, 2026. The workshop held on the third day of the celebrations, aimed to introduce students to the creative possibilities of sunlight-based printing while promoting eco-friendly art, sustainability and experiential learning.Faculty members from the Department of Clothing & Textiles familiarised the students with the basic scientific principles and process involved in sun printing. The participants were then given practical exposure to the technique, wherein they experimented with natural materials such as leaves and flowers, along with stencils, to create attractive patterns and impressions on fabric samples.The workshop provided students with an opportunity to explore their creativity and understand how natural elements can be incorporated into textile surface design through simple and sustainable techniques. Students participated enthusiastically and created a variety of unique and aesthetically appealing sun prints, reflecting their imagination and artistic skills.
