GHSC-10 Organises Nukkad Natak on ‘Post-Delivery Obesity Issues Among Mothers’ Under Poshan Pakhwada

Government Home Science College (GHSC-10) organised a thought-provoking Nukkad Natak on April 11, 2025, on the theme ‘Post-Delivery Obesity Issues Among Mothers’ as part of the ongoing Poshan Pakhwada celebrations. The event aimed to raise awareness about the often-overlooked health challenges faced by women after childbirth, with a particular focus on post-delivery obesity.Students from the Department of Human Development gave a powerful and heartfelt performance, portraying the physical, emotional, and social struggles new mothers experience. The natak emphasized the importance of self-care and healthy lifestyle choices post-pregnancy, highlighting how a healthy mother contributes to a happier and more vibrant household.Targeted especially at the young women of GHSC, the performance encouraged them to prioritise their well-being and adopt healthy practices even after childbirth. Blending entertainment with a strong social message, the natak successfully engaged the audience while driving home the importance of community and family support in a woman’s postpartum journey.Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, appreciated the efforts of the Department of Human Development, commending the students for sensitising the public on such a crucial issue through creative expression.
