GHSC-10 Organises Pledge-Taking Ceremony under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan during Orientation Programme

Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, organised a pledge-taking ceremony under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan during the Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the Academic Session 2026-27. The activity was organised to sensitise the freshers about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage them to adopt a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle.The students, along with faculty members, took a solemn pledge to stay away from drugs and substance abuse and to contribute actively towards creating awareness about the ill effects of addiction. They also resolved to spread the message of a Nasha Mukt Bharat among their peers, families and society.

Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of beginning the academic journey with a commitment towards a healthy and disciplined life. She stated, “Our youth are the future of the nation, and it is essential to empower them with the right awareness and values from the very beginning. A drug-free and healthy youth is the foundation of a strong and progressive India.”The pledge-taking ceremony was an important component of the Orientation Programme, reflecting the college's continued commitment towards promoting the well-being of students and supporting the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
