GHSC-10 Promotes Mental Health Awareness through Digital Poster-Making Activity

In compliance with the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India Order dated 15.01.2026 in the matter of Amit Kumar & Ors. vs. Union of India & Ors., Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, organised a Digital Poster-Making Activity on Mental Health Awareness during the month of June 2026. The initiative aimed to promote mental health literacy, encourage positive conversations on emotional well-being and sensitise students towards the importance of maintaining good mental health.The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who creatively designed digital posters conveying powerful messages on themes such as self-care, stress management, emotional resilience, seeking professional help, breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness and fostering empathy and kindness. Through their innovative designs and thought-provoking slogans, students highlighted that mental health is as important as physical health and encouraged individuals to speak openly about their emotional well-being.
The activity served as an effective platform for students to express their creativity while reinforcing the significance of awareness, acceptance and early intervention in addressing mental health concerns. The digital format also enabled wider dissemination of these awareness messages through online platforms, thereby extending the campaign's outreach beyond the college campus.Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and lauded the efforts of Department of Human Development for successfully conducting the awareness activity. She emphasised that educational institutions play a vital role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to prioritise their mental well-being. She further encouraged students to cultivate healthy coping strategies, seek help without hesitation and support one another in creating a compassionate and mentally healthy society.The programme concluded with a collective commitment to continue promoting mental health awareness and nurturing a campus culture that values emotional well-being, empathy and resilience.
