GHSC-10 Students Participate in ‘Gen-Z Against Drugs’ Awareness Programme

Students of Government Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh actively participated in the awareness programme “Gen-Z Against Drugs”, organised at the Plaza, Sector-17, Chandigarh, on September 20, 2026. The programme was aimed at mobilising the youth against substance abuse and fostering a strong collective commitment towards building a healthy and drug-free society.The initiative focused on creating widespread awareness among young people about the harmful consequences of substance abuse and addiction and encouraging them to adopt a healthy, disciplined and responsible lifestyle. It also sought to mobilise NSS volunteers, educational institutions and community organisations to serve as ambassadors of the campaign and spread the message of a drug-free society.

The programme was graced by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest.Students of GHSC-10 participated enthusiastically in the awareness activities and raised their voices against drug abuse. They actively engaged in the campaign and took a solemn pledge to stay away from drugs, discourage substance abuse and contribute towards creating a safe, healthy and drug-free society.
The enthusiastic participation of the students reflected the college’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, social responsibility and the promotion of healthy and drug-free lifestyles. Through such initiatives, GHSC-10 continues to encourage its students to become responsible citizens and proactive ambassadors of positive social change.
