Government Home Science College Organises Career Awareness Seminars to Empower Students with Diverse Career Opportunities

Government Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh organised two Career Awareness Seminars on September 14 and 16, 2026. The Institutional Placement Cell of the College aimed to acquaint students with diverse career opportunities available in India and abroad. The seminars were organised in collaboration with AECC Education Consultants and Adda 247 Academy.The session conducted in collaboration with AECC Education Consultants focused on international higher education and career opportunities in the field of Home Science and its allied disciplines. The experts familiarised students with various courses and specialisations available at reputed foreign universities, admission pathways, career prospects and scholarship opportunities. The session provided students with valuable insights into pursuing higher education overseas and exploring global career avenues related to their academic backgrounds.
The second seminar, conducted in collaboration with Adda 247 Academy, focused on IAS, PCS and other competitive examinations. Renowned faculty members Mr. Jatin and Mr. Fateh interacted with students and sensitised them about the structure and scope of various competitive examinations. They explained effective strategies for examination preparation, including developing a systematic study plan, understanding the syllabus, selecting appropriate study material and maintaining consistency and discipline throughout the preparation journey.The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising questions about career choices, examination preparation and future opportunities. Inspirational success stories of students who had cleared the IAS examination through Adda 247 Academy further motivated the participants and encouraged them to pursue their aspirations with determination and confidence.
Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the efforts of the IEP Cell in organising such informative and career-oriented initiatives. She encouraged students to explore diverse opportunities, remain focused on their goals and make informed decisions about their academic and professional journeys.The seminars reflected the college's continued commitment towards career guidance, student empowerment, entrepreneurship and holistic professional development.
