GHSC-10 Celebrates National Girl Child Day

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, organised host of activities to celebrate National Girl Child Day. Poster making and slogan writing competitions were organised on January 23, 2024 along with a motivating and insightful session on dignity and inner strength on January 24, 2024 respectively. The event aimed at empowering NSS Volunteers with tools for personal growth and a peaceful mindset.The resource person for the event, Mr. P.S. Shukla, a representative from Raj Vidya Kendra, Chandigarh Branch, highlighted about importance of dignity and strength to overcome challenges with hope. Mr. Shukla’s eloquent delivery through captivating video presentations helped the volunteers understand the relevance of these virtues in their own lives, encouraging them to embrace gratitude, accept failure, and cultivate resilience.Over 60 NSS volunteers from the college attended the session, actively participating in discussions and reflecting on how they could incorporate these values into their daily lives.

The session left a lasting impact on the attendees, inspiring them to develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and inner strength.In a heartfelt gesture, the session concluded with the gifting of two of Mr. Prem Rawat’s books, Swayam Ki Aawaj (The Voice of Self) and Hear Yourself, to all participants. These books, authored by Mr. Rawat, offer a profound exploration of self-realization and personal growth, reinforcing the teachings shared during the session.The event was well-received by the volunteers marking an important occasion for personal reflection and empowerment on National Girl Child Day. Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal emphasised on the college’s continued commitment to fostering an environment that promotes dignity and strength among young women. She further highlighted that college is dedicated towards providing quality education and promoting the holistic development of students. With a focus on women’s empowerment, the college strives  to cultivate a nurturing environment that encourages personal growth, leadership, and social responsibility.
