NSS Day Celebrated with Zeal and Commitment at GHSC-10

Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh, celebrated NSS Day on September 24, 2026, with enthusiasm and a strong spirit of social responsibility. The celebration highlighted the core values of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and encouraged volunteers to uphold the ideals of selfless service, community engagement and responsible citizenship.On the occasion, NSS volunteers took the pledge to sincerely uphold the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” and to incorporate its spirit into their lives through meaningful service to society. The volunteers also pledged their commitment towards contributing to the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse among their peers and in the community.

The celebration served as a reminder that NSS is not merely a student volunteer programme but a platform for developing empathy, leadership, discipline and a sense of social responsibility. The volunteers participated with great zeal and enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment to serving society and contributing positively to nation-building.Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal emphasised the significance of NSS Day and stated that the spirit of “Not Me, But You”encourages young people to place community welfare above individual interests. She encouraged the volunteers to actively participate in social initiatives and become responsible, compassionate and socially conscious citizens.
