Self Defence Training Kickstarted at Home Science College

Seven Day Self Defence Training kickstarted today at Government Home Science College, Chandigarh. The training aimed at instilling confidence among girls to defend themselves against anti- social elements and also to facilitate their overall personality development. The initiative has been taken by the NSS & NCC Units of the college in collaboration with Women & Child Support Unit, Chandigarh under the dynamic leadership of worthy Principal of the college, Prof.Sudha Katyal. She also emphasised on significance of conducting such training camps and highlighted about increased cases of eve-teasing, rape and other atrocities on young women in present times. Prof. Katyal further urged girls to make use of this opportunity and learn various techniques so as to protect themselves against anti-social elements in the society.
