Third day & Fourth Day of Workshop Witnessed Designing & Construction of Sustainable Home Decor Items, Tote Bags & Garment Construction at GHSC-10 (06-07 April ,2024)

Third day of Workshop on Modern Sewing Techniques in collaboration with Singer India ltd. started with great enthusiasm among students at Government Home Science College, Chandigarh. Students of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) designed & constructed sustainable home decor articles like cushion covers and table runners etc. along with stitching of tote bags and one piece dresses with highly equipped machines provided by Singer India ltd.The highlights of the fourth day of workshop was the garment construction segment, where students brought their creative visions to life. Students meticulously crafted pieces that reflected their unique personalities and aesthetics. Equally impressive was the embellishment segment, where participants learned how to elevate their creations with intricate details and embellishments. Using various stitches, students demonstrated their mastery of decorative techniques, transforming ordinary garments into works of art. Participants expressed eagerness to apply contemporary knowledge in their creative pursuits with each passing day.Mr. Amandeep Singh, Sales and Marketing Incharge, Singer India Ltd. appreciated the students and encouraged them to produce more creative articles.Prof Sudha Katyal, Principal of the College, applauded the initiative from Singer India Ltd. in organizing the workshop and their dedication to fostering skill development and innovation among students. She further highlighted that college is committed to provide quality education and develop energetic and brilliant graduates and post graduates who can play an instrumental role in the service of community and nation at large, if they are properly trained and tuned towards sustainable practises. In her concluding words, Prof. Katyal appreciated the students for their work and motivated them to make the most of such workshops.
